Football

Football, known as soccer in some regions, is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players each. The objective of the game is to score goals by getting a spherical ball into the opposing team’s net, using primarily the feet, but players can also use their heads and torsos to play the ball. The game is played on a rectangular field, called a pitch, with a goal at each end. Football is governed by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) at the international level.

The game has a rich history and is one of the most popular sports worldwide, featuring professional leagues, international tournaments, and a global following. Matches are typically divided into two halves of 45 minutes each, with a 15-minute halftime break. The team that scores the most goals by the end of the match wins. In case of a tie, depending on the competition, the match may go into extra time or a penalty shootout.

Football is not only celebrated for its competitive nature but also for its ability to unite diverse cultures and communities through shared passion and sport.
